It is said that Lord Miyamoto Musashi left behind a secret text known as the Go Rin No Sho, but Lord Otani was a spectacle in his own right, trying to establish a legend within the confines of MLB. However, in the year 2023, his participation in the WBC exhibition and the rigorous season took a toll, causing a reoccurrence of his elbow injury. Such an outcome was anticipated by this humble servant. Among the baseball samurai who ventured from Japan, Maeda, Darvish, Matsuzaka, and Lord Otani, among others, have undergone a procedure called Tommy John surgery. It appears that this surgery was first devised by a physician named Dr. Frank Jobe in 1974, and the procedure became known by the name of the first player to receive it, Mr. Tommy John. Players like Nomo, Ichiro, Matsui, and the Great Demon Lord have not undergone this surgery. When it comes to baseball samurai, once their health is compromised, it may spell the end.

I recall the days when Hoshi Hyouma broke his thumb and endured trials thereafter. Lord Otani appears to manage his nails diligently, but he indeed places significant strain on his elbow in practice. While it is said that he can still bat even if he can't pitch, it would be wise to monitor his condition for the time being. At this point, one can understand the desire to achieve some kind of title and produce results, but pushing oneself too hard could lead to an unfavorable prognosis, and there may be no chance of re-signing through free agency.
