"America's Major Sports and MLB Rule Changes"

I have heard from wandering merchants that in the land of America, which has about three times the population of Japan, there are four popular sports. The most popular one is American football, and it seems that almost all the people in America watch a halftime show during matches. While Japan imitates this tradition, it has not become a significant topic in America. Well, we are a country that often follows America's lead. Basketball comes next in popularity, and it is spreading worldwide much like soccer. Hachimura Rui is doing well in the NBA. The third popular sport is ice hockey, but due to its seasonal nature, its popularity seems to be somewhat declining among the people. As for Major League Baseball (MLB), which should be popular in Japan, it has not gained as much popularity. Perhaps its lengthy match durations and the fact that the World Series is an event exclusive to America have hindered its establishment as an independent sport in a single country. To regain popularity, MLB officials seem to be introducing various rule changes. The introduction of pitch locks and double locks might cast a shadow over Ohtani's two-way playing style. Mid-season transfers to other teams seem to be a common occurrence. Even a legendary player like Ichiro Suzuki was suddenly moved to the Yankees without him knowing. We cannot predict what will happen to Ohtani. It all depends on the decisions of the MLB.
