"2024 Paris Olympics Travelogue"

The 2024 Paris Olympics seems to have ended despite a chain of scandals, but in the Tensho Warring States era, the great colonial era of exploration by the Jesuits was in full swing, and a festival of peace was just a dream. It seems that many remnants of this remain even in the Reiwa era. The Paris Olympics was a French Empire event, but Tahiti is still a de facto colony. Surfing events were held there, but the triathlon was never held in the degraded environment that was like a sewer. The French Empire still had many remnants of colonies in the South Pacific islands, so they never held anything within the country. The British Empire also had many colonies directly governed by the royal family. Bermuda was thought to be an independent country, but it was controlled by the missionaries. The Cayman Islands are a sacred tax haven with a strong fortress. The Lord of the Palace lamented that such a government would still exist more than 400 years in the future. Humans have not evolved at all.

The Japanese media is enthusiastic, claiming that the 45 medals are the most in an overseas Olympics! The Lord of the Palace also said that he would like to praise the athletes for their efforts. However, I have noticed many things that do not make sense to me. Even the eaves monkeys are scratching their heads. At the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, the home team won 27 gold medals, 14 silver medals, and 17 bronze medals, for a total of 58 medals. In addition, the COVID-19 pandemic put foreign athletes at a considerable disadvantage, so there was a widespread sense of unfairness. In contrast, in Paris, the team won a total of 45 medals, a 20-30% decrease. Rather than touting Japan's second-best record, they probably decided that it would sound better to say that they had won the most medals away from home! The fact remains that the results in Paris were significantly lower than in Tokyo. Now, the gold medalist in the men's marathon was a substitute just before the start. According to IOC regulations, it is possible to replace an athlete in an emergency the day before. However, the female marathon runner felt something strange in her leg on July 31, but she had an MRI scan a week later, and ended up missing the race. The JOC, according to its own regulations, removed her from the reserve list on August 2. One of the two remaining athletes finished in sixth place, but if Ai Hosoda had been promoted from the reserve list and competed, she might have performed better than expected. The track and field world ended up with a dismal result of only one medal. The African land champions (probably due to DNA advantages) were clearly on display, and Japanese athletes were faced with a huge wall in terms of running ability, physical spring, mental strength, stamina, and instinct for the key moments of the match. Hassan from the Netherlands won three medals in the 5000m, 10000m, and marathon, and won the gold medal in the marathon 34 hours after the 10000m final. What is the point of Japan going crazy over winning a prize? In athletics, there is no other way than to compete in events that can be won. Swimming was also notable for its poor performance with only one medal. The athlete who won two titles in the individual medley in Tokyo was unable to win again. It is no wonder that people say that it was a gift from heaven due to the home advantage. Judo also did not win medals as expected. It seems to have become a martial art. I heard that there were rule changes and refereeing errors. Judo is supposed to be done on a tatami mat. Japan should withdraw from the federation and create a new organization to return judo to its original form. Gymnastics won a medal, but the results were not as expected. The men's and women's volleyball teams held on, but it seems that they ran out of energy before the Olympics. It is unknown whether we can expect the same performance at the Olympics in Los Angeles. Both soccer and basketball were uninteresting with their incoherent game development. I'm not sure whether golf or breaking are suitable sports for the Olympics. Baseball will apparently be played in LA as a host country privilege, but what will they achieve by having MLB players show up? The Olympics are supposed to be based on amateurism. It is not a mecca for active professional athletes. The Olympics turning into a commercial event started with the previous LA games. I wonder what will happen to the Olympics in the future. President Bach will step down in 2025.
